TCM Knowledge:Febrile Disease and Cold-induced Disease according to ShangHanLun. ✵Tai Yin (Greater Yin) disease(Tai Yin Syndrome): Disease or syndrome characterized by the decline of spleen yang with a production of cold-damp in the interior, and manifested by abdominal fullness and sometimes abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea, anorexia, sunken and relaxed or weak pulse.

 ✵Herbalist Zhang Zhongjing defined the Tai Yin (Greater Yin) disease(Tai Yin Syndrome) in about 13 syndromes. These syndromes are all defined in details by his famous works:

 ✦Tai Yin disease, symptoms abdominal fullness and vomit, no appetite, diarrhea spontaneously(uninhibited defecation) even seriously, abdominal pain regularly. If ever used purgative method, surely will hard bind below the chest.

 ✦ Tai Yin wind-stroke, cases vexing pain in arms and legs, cases Yang-pulse weak Yin-pulse uneven and long, are the cases will be relieved.

 ✦ Tai Yin syndrome, cases pulse floating, could induce perspiration, better use Gui Zhi Tang.

 ✦ Cases diarrhea spontaneously and not thirst, belong to Tai Ying, for the reason pathogenic coldness hid inside. Should warm it, better take...

 ✦ Cold-induced disease, cases pulse floating and moderate, warm in hands and feet spontaneously, is in the Tai Yin. Cases of TaiYin syndrome should see yellowing of body; Suggest cases uninhibited urination, the body will not yellowing. Till seven to eight days, though sudden restlessness, diarrhea over ten times daily, surely will stop itself, for the reason excess at spleen, rotten and undigested food will be discharged.
