Diseases of Sadness.
Diseases of sadness. 
 Sadness is one of the seven emotions, in excess sadness may consume lung Qi, resulting in shortness of breath, listlessness and fatigue.                      

 Sadness is a disease of the deficiency in both the heart viscus and liver viscus. Those who are often sad do not necessarily encounter sad things, the heart is just unhappy, although encountering things worth rejoicing, but also smile reluctantly.                      

 The ancient classical works Nei Jing (the Inner Canon) recorded that the emotion of lungs being sad. It also recorded that the heart is deficient then one is sad, sadness then one is worrying.

Diseases of Fear.
Diseases of fear. 
 Fear is one of the seven emotions, in excess fear may cause kidney Qi to sink, resulting in incontinence of urine and stool, or even syncope.                      

 Fear is a disease of kidney, heart, liver and stomach. And fear, is the emotion of kidney, so the heart, liver and stomach, all have the disease of fear, due to the kidneys. This is the explanation from ancient classical works Nei Jing (the Inner Canon). The Ling Shu (the Spiritual Pivot or Divine Axis) explains, "the disease of foot Shaoyin, easy to fear."                      

 Fear and fright are similar, the state of fright is not known to oneself; the state of fear is known to oneself. Fright state is one gets frightened when hear the sound; the state of fear is that one has a self-awareness of such a state that someone will catch oneself, and can not sit alone, can not sleep alone, or one must use the lamp at night, etc.                      

 According to various pathogenic reasons, the disease of fear is classified into several types:                      

 The disease of fear due to the heart;                      
 The disease of fear due to the stomach;                      
 The disease of fear, due to the gallbladder and liver;                      
 The disease of fear due to the kidney.

Diseases of Joy.
Diseases of joy. 
 Joy is one of the seven emotions, in excess joy may make the heart Qi sluggish, resulting in absent-mindedness, and even mental disturbance.                      

 Joy is a disease of the heart and lungs. The human heart is happy and motivate, and its Qi reaches to the outside and presents as joy. If it is over the regular temperance, the emotion swings and can not be collected, heart and lungs are hurt, as these two Zang-viscera are injured, the disease is formed.                      

 The ancient classical works Nei Jing (the Inner Canon) explains: the emotion of heart being joy. Also explains: the heart is excessive and one laughs, laughing and one is joy. The heart is excessive, the pathogenic factor turns excessive in the heart, the pathogenic factors, are phlegm or fire.

Diseases of Anger.
Diseases of anger. 
 Anger is one of the seven emotions, in excess anger may cause the liver Qi to ascend, resulting in headache, flushed face, blood-shot eyes, or hematemesis, and even sudden fainting.                      

 Anger is mostly a disease of the liver and gallbladder. It is a normal emotion, only in the condition one turns angry not naturally, the Qi of the liver and gallbladder is reversed, and the liver and gallbladder are then injured, so anger turns a disease.                      

 The ancient classical works Nei Jing (the Inner Canon) explains:the emotion of liver being anger. It also explains: violent anger hurts Yin.

Diseases of Worry.
Diseases of worry. 
 Worry is one of the seven emotions, which often arises together with anxiety, and in excess may cause injury to the spleen.                      

 Worry is mostly a disease of the lungs and the spleen. The heart has some sadness, suffering, and not happy, then affect upward to lungs and develops to worry, so worry is a disease of lungs, and it also hurt the spleen.                      

 The ancient classical works Nei Jing (the Inner Canon) explains:the emotion of lungs being worry. It also explains: worrying and the Qi is sinking.

Diseases of Anxiety.
Diseases of anxiety. 
 Anxiety is one of the seven emotions, in excess anxiety may cause stagnation of spleen Qi, resulting in anorexia, abdominal distension, and loose stool.                      

 Anxiety is mostly a disease of spleen and heart. The ancient classical works Nei Jing (the Inner Canon) explains:the emotion of spleen being anxiety. It also explains:anxiety leads to stagnation of Qi.                      

 Common syndromes of anxiety are introduced:                      

 There is laboring with the mind and thoughtfulness, hurt the mind, resulting in vertigo and dizziness, dysopia (blurred vision), heart deficiency and shortness of breath, palpitations and dysphoria with smothery sensation.                      

 There is thinking and sadness, resulting in insufficient of heart and mind, and can not fall into sleep.                      

 Excessive thinking and worrying, resulting fearful and heartbeat, and uneasy.                      

 One thinks too much, causing insufficiency of heart Qi, forgetfulness, fear and anxiety, and often has uncertain dreams.                      

 One thinks too much, exhausting the heart blood, and develops to severe palpitation and trance.                      

 Likewise, one thinks too hard and injure the heart and spleen, causing forgetfulness and loss of memory, and those whose speech is upside down like an idiot.                      

 One thinks too hard and lose control of the mind, causing phlegm and saliva to gather in the pericardium and gradually develop to stupid.
