 points on the head and neck(HN): extra points located on the head and neck.The basic points are introduced:sishencong(EX-HN1), dangyang(EX-HN2), yintang(EX-HN3), yuyao(EX-HN4), taiyang(EX-HN5), erjian(EX-HN6),qiuhou(EXH-HN7), shangyingxiang(EX-HN8), neiyingxiang(EX-HN9), juquan(EX-HN10), haiquan(EX-HN11), jinjin(EX-HN12),yuye(EX-HN13), yiming(EX-HN14), jingbailao(EX-HN15).
 ✵sishencong(EX-HN1): four points on the head, 1 cun anterior, posterior and lateral to baihui(GV20).

 ✵dangyang(EX-HN2): point at the frontal part of the head, directly above the pupil, 1 cun above the anterior hairline.

 ✵yintang(EX-HN3): point on the forehead, at the midpoint between the eyebrows.

 ✵yuyao(EX-HN4): point on the forehead, directly above the pupil, in the eyebrow.

 ✵taiyang(EX-HN5): point at the temporal part of the head, between the lateral end of the eyebrow and the outer canthus, in the depression one finger breadth behind.

 ✵erjian(EX-HN6): point at the apex of the auricle when the ear is folded forward.

 ✵qiuhou(EXH-HN7): point on the face, at the junction of the lateral fourth and medial three fourths of the infraorbital margin.

 ✵shangyingxiang(EX-HN8): point on the face, at the junction of the alar cartilage of the nose and the nasal concha, near the upper end of the nasolabial groove.

 ✵neiyingxiang(EX-HN9): point in the nostril, at the junction between the alar cartilage of the nose and the nasal concha.

 ✵juquan(EX-HN10): point in the mouth, at the midpoint of the dorsal midline of the tongue.

 ✵haiquan(EX-HN11): point in the mouth, at the midpoint of the frenulum of the tongue.

 ✵jinjin(EX-HN12): point in the mouth, on the vein on the left side of the frenulum of the tongue.

 ✵yuye(EX-HN13): point in the mouth,on the vein on the right side of the frenulum of the tongue.

 ✵yiming(EX-HN14): point on the nape, 1 cun posterior to yifen.

 ✵jingbailao(EX-HN15): point on the nape, 2 cun above dazhui(GV14) and 1 cun lateral to the posterior midline.

 points on the chest and abdomen(CA): extrac points located on the chest and abdomen.The basic points are introduced:zigong(EX-CA1).
 ✵zigong(EX-CA1): point on the lower abdomen, 4 cun below the center of the umbilicus and 3 cun lateral to zhongji(CV3).

 points on the back(B): extra points located on the back.The basic points are introduced:dingchuan(EX-B1), jiaji(EX-B2), weiwanxiashu(EX-B3), pigen(EX-B4), xiajishu(EX-B5), yaoyi(EX-B6),yaoyan(EX-B7), shiqizhui(EX-B8), yaoqi(EX-B9).
 ✵dingchuan(EX-B1): point on the back, below the spinous process of the 7th cervical vertebra, 0.5 cun lateral to the posterior midline.

 ✵jiaji(EX-B2): 17 points on each side of the back, below the spinous processes from the 1st thoracic to the 5th lumbar vertebra, 0.5 cun lateral to the posterior midline.

 ✵weiwanxiashu(EX-B3): point on the back, below the spinous process of the 8th thoracic vertebra, 1.5 cun lateral to the posterior midline.

 ✵pigen(EX-B4): point on the lower back, below the spinous process of the 1st lumbar vertebra, 3.5 cun lateral to the posterior midline.

 ✵xiajishu(EX-B5): point on the midline of the lower back, below the spinous process of the 3rd lumbar vertebra.

 ✵yaoyi(EX-B6): point on the lower back, below the spinous process of the 4th lumbar vertebra, 3 cun lateral to the posterior midline.

 ✵yaoyan(EX-B7): point on the lower back, below the spinous process of the 4th lumbar vertebra, in the depression 3.5 cun lateral to the posterior midline.

 ✵shiqizhui(EX-B8): point on the lower back and on the posterior midline, below the spinous process of the 5th lumbar vertebra.

 ✵yaoqi(EX-B9): point on the lower back, 2 cun directly above the tip of the coccyx, in the depression between the sacral horns.

 
points on the upper extremities(UE).

 points on the upper extremities(UE): extra points located on the upper extremities.The basic points are introduced:zhoujian(EX-UE1), erbai(EX-UE2), zhongquan(EX-UE3), zhongkui(EX-UE4), dagukong(EX-UE5), xiaogukong(EX-UE6),yaotongdian(EX-UE7), wailaogong(EX-UE8), baxie(EX-UE9), sifeng(EX-UE10), shixuan(EX-UE11).
 ✵zhoujian(EX-UE1): point on the posterior side of the elbow, at the tip of the olecranon when the elbow is flexed.

 ✵erbai(EX-UE2): two points on the palmar side of each forearm, 4 cun proximal to the crease of the wrist, on each side of the tendon of the radial flexor muscle of the wrist.

 ✵zhongquan(EX-UE3): point on the dorsal crease of the wrist, in the depression on the radial side of the tendon of the common extensor muscle of the fingers.

 ✵zhongkui(EX-UE4): point on the dorsal side of the middle finger, at the center of the proximal interphalangeal joint.

 ✵dagukong(EX-UE5): point on the dorsal side of the thumb, at the center of the interphalangeal joint.

 ✵xiaogukong(EX-UE6): point on the dorsal side of the little finger, at the center of the proximal interphalangeal joint.

 ✵yaotongdian(EX-UE7): two points on the dorsum of each hand, between the 2nd and 3rd, and between the 4th and 5th metacarpal bones, and at the midpoint between the dorsal crease of the wrist and the metacarpophalangeal joint.

 ✵wailaogong(EX-UE8): point on the dorsum of the hand, between the 2nd and 3rd metacarpal bones, and 0.5 cun proximal to the metacarpophalangeal joint.

 ✵baxie(EX-UE9): four points on the dorsum of each hand, at the junction of the red and white skin proximal to the margin of the four webs between the fingers.

 ✵sifeng(EX-UE10): four points on each hand, on the palmar side of the 2nd and 5th fingers and at the center of the proximal interphalangeal joints.

 ✵shixuan(EX-UE11): ten points on both hands, at the tips of the 10 fingers, 0.1 cun from the free margin of the nails.

 points on the lower extremities(LE): extra points located on the lower extremities.The basic points are introduced:kuangu(EX-LE1), heding(EX-LE2), baichongwo(EX-LE3), neixiyan(EX-LE4), xiyan(EX-LE5), dannang(EX-LE6),lanwei(EX-LE7), neihuaijian(EX-LE8), waihuaijian(EX-LE9), bafeng(EX-LE10), duyin(EX-LE11), qiduan(EX-LE12).
 ✵kuangu(EX-LE1): two points on each thigh, in the lower part of the anterior surface of the thigh, 1.5 cun lateral and medial to liangqiu.

 ✵heding(EX-LE2): point above the knee, in the depression of the midpoint of the upper border of the patella.

 ✵baichongwo(EX-LE3): point 3 cun above the medial superior corner of the patella of the thigh with the knee flexed,i.e.,1 cun above xuehai(SP10).

 ✵neixiyan(EX-LE4): point in the depression medial to the patellar ligament when the knee is flexed.

 ✵xiyan(EX-LE5): point in the depression on the lateral side of the patellar ligament when the knee is flexed.

 ✵dannang(EX-LE6): point at the upper part of the lateral surface of the leg, 2 cun directly below the depression anterior and inferior to the head of the fibula or 2 cun below yanglingquan(GB34).

 ✵lanwei(EX-LE7): a point at the upper part of the anterior surface of the leg, 5 cun below dubi(ST35),one finger breadth lateral to the anterior crest of the tibia.

 ✵neihuaijian(EX-LE8): a point on the medial side of the foot, at the tip of the medial malleolus.

 ✵waihuaijian(EX-LE9): a point on the lateral side of the foot, at the tip of the lateral malleolus.

 ✵bafeng(EX-LE10): eight points on the instep of both feet, at the junction of the red and white skin proximal to the margin of the webs between each two neighbouring toes.

 ✵duyin(EX-LE11): a point on the plantar side of the 2nd toe, at the center of the distal interphalangeal joint.

 ✵qiduan(EX-LE12): ten points at the tips of the 10 toes of both feet, 0.1 cun from the free margin of each toenail.

 
ashi.

 ashi: extra points ashi are introduced:ashi.
 ✵ashi: a category of points which have no fixed location and are found by eliciting tenderness at the diseased site.
