顧德華(Gù Déhuá), was known as 里云(Lǐ Yún), her alias or her popular name, native to Wuxian county of Jiangsu, she was born in the Daoguang and Xianfeng years of the Qing Dynasty, early to middle of the 19th century, she is a famous gynecologist in Wuxian county, and the woman patients respected her after her treatment.
Main books and academic thoughts:
Gu Dehua is the author of a gynecological work Hua Yun Lou Yi An (the medical case of flower rhyme mansion), which kept 29 records, most of which are critical and severe diseases. The records discussions are thorough, and they are fair and good. They are all empirical cases, which are rare among lady physicians. Zhang Yutian in the same county collected the transcripts of the book. In the year 1921, physician Qiu Jisheng of Shaoxing compiled the transcripts into The Collection of Rare Medical Books, which enabled the Hua Yun Lou Yi An(the medical case of flower rhyme mansion) to be passed down till today.
