 徐彬Xú Bīn 徐彬 (Xú Bīn), a native of Xiushui, his year of birth and death are unknown, he lived approximately since the middle to late years of the 17th century, a herbalist of the Qing dynasty, he ever followed with herbalists 李士材 (Lǐ Shìcái) and 喻昌 (Yù Chāng) to study TCM, respected the ancient works Shang Han Lun (the Treatise on Cold-induced Diseases) and Jin Kui Yao Lue (the Synopsis of the Golden Chamber) as two of the "Six Classics" among medical works. In terms of his life in detail, there are no available records.

Main books and academic thoughts:


 Xu Bin ever compiled works 《傷寒方論》(Shang Han Fang Lun, or Treatise on the Prescriptions of the Treatise on Cold-induced Diseases), also known as Shang Han Yi Bai Shi San Fang Fa Ming (the Invention of One Hundred and Thirteen Prescriptions of the Treatise on Cold-induced Diseases), it was published in the year 1667 AD, to analyze the profound meaning of Zhongjing's prescriptions. His other works are:Jin Kui Yao Lue Lun Zhu (A brief commentary on the Synopsis of the Golden Chamber), 25 volumes, it was finished in the year 1671 AD, Shang Han Tu Shuo (Illustration Annotations of the Treatise on Cold-induced Diseases), Zhu Xu Shi Shang Han Bai Zheng Ge (Annotations on Xu's Shang Han Bai Zheng Ge), and so on.

 Shang Han Yi Bai Shi San Fang Fa Ming (the Invention of One Hundred and Thirteen Prescriptions of the Treatise on Cold-induced Diseases) is a TCM works written by Xu Bin of the Qing dynasty. It was compiled in the Kangxi 6th year (1667 AD). There are prefaces by Zhang Suichen and Zhong Cheng at the beginning. Its content is: the articles of Tai Yang channel in 3 chapters, total 67 prescriptions are recorded; the articles of Yang Ming channel in 3 chapters, 8 prescriptions are recorded; the articles of Shao Yang channel, 2 prescriptions are collected; the articles on the combined syndrome, overlapping, mistreated disease, phlegm disease, 6 prescriptions are recorded; the article about no relief following meridian penetration, 1 prescription is recorded; the article on recurrence caused by overexertion and Yin Yang Yi, 5 prescriptions are collected;It gave annotations on the one hundred and thirteen prescriptions one by one, explaining the meaning, indications, etiology, and pathogenesis of the prescriptions.

 Jin Kui Yao Lue Lun Zhu (A Brief Commentary on the Synopsis of the Golden Chamber), a works on the study of Jin Kui Yao Lue (the Synopsis of the Golden Chamber), has 25 volumes. It was compiled by Xu Bin and finished till the year 1671 AD. The author interprets the articles according to the order of the articles in Jin Kui Yao Lue (the Synopsis of the Golden Chamber) edited by 徐镕 (Xú Róng). The annotations are easy to understand, short, concise, and clear. After annotating, there are supplementing discussions that aim to further clarify the meaning of the original book. There are many personal viewpoints in the book that get quite a bit of attention from later generations of herbalists.
