Constipation.
TCM Knowledge:Constipation 
 ✵The Constipation is a disease infrequent or difficult evacuation of the feces. The feces is hard to evacuate, or dry and hard to defecate, or could not defecate; or a little feces once, and seems there is still feces residue, extended time of defecation; or the defecation is sticky and not smooth, these cases are all difficulty in defecation, and known as constipation.

 ✵ The Constipation, is known due to various pathogenic reasons, in the TCM system, known including excessive fire and excessive heat, lead to dryness in large intestine, feces dried and hard to defecate; depressive mood, Qi stagnation and impassable, lead to difficulty of defecation; Qi and blood deficiency and weak, could not moisten the intestine tract, poor bowel movement, difficulty of defecation; cold in stomach and intestines, feces cold and could not be moved. In summary, the difficulty of defecation or constipation is closely related with the abnormal function of the large intestine, stomach, spleen, and kidney.

Heat Constipation.
Heat Constipation 
 ✦The Heat Constipation type, is also known as constipation of the heat type, is a type of constipation due to internal heat pathogens.

 ✧ The symptoms of the Heat Constipation type, are commonly known including dry feces and blocking, hard or difficult to defecate, smelly in the mouth, sore on lip and tongue, red face and red eyes(flushing, hot eyes), yellow urine and less urine and urination burning, red tongue, dry and yellow tongue coating. Other symptoms might be observed: fever, flushed face, thirst, abdominal distension, yellow and dry tongue coating, etc.

 ✧ In the TCM system, the pathogenic reasons for Heat Constipation type are known from various origins, mainly from the endogenous heat and internal fire.

Qi stagnant constipation.
Qi stagnant constipation 
 ✦The Qi stagnant constipation is also known as constipation of the Qi-stagnation type, or Qi constipation is constipation due to the Qi stagnation.

 ✧ The symptoms of the Qi stagnant constipation type, are commonly known including continuous belching, fullness in chest and hypochondrium, poor appetite(low food intake), feces not dry, desire to defecate but failed, serious abdominal pain and distension. Other symptoms might be observed: accompanied by frequent eructation, stuffiness in the chest, impaired appetite, and even abdominal pain.

 ✦ In the TCM system, the pathogenic reasons of the Qi stagnant constipation type are known from various origins, mainly because of the stagnation of Qi.

Qi deficiency constipation.

 ✦The Qi deficiency constipation type is also known as constipation of the Qi-deficiency type, is constipation due to the deficiency or insufficiency of Qi.

 ✧ The symptoms of the Qi deficiency constipation type, are commonly known including mental fatigue, spiritlessness(fatigued spirit, lassitude of spirit), short of breath, pale face, when time desire to defecate, but powerless to defecate, if defecate with power then sweat and tired, dizziness, sleepy after defecation, pale white tongue, white moist tongue coating. Other symptoms might be observed: difficulty in defecation while the feces are neither dry nor hard, usually accompanied by other symptoms of Qi deficiency.

Blood deficiency constipation.

 ✦The Blood deficiency constipation type is also known as constipation of blood deficiency, is a kind of constipation due to deficiency of blood.

 ✧ The symptoms of the Blood deficiency constipation type, are commonly known including sallow complexion(sallow yellow facial complexion), pale white no blood color in lips, tongue, fingernail, dizziness and palpitation(dazzled,vertigo,flustered), difficult to defecate even with strength or effort.

 ✦ In the TCM system, the pathogenic reasons of the Blood deficiency constipation are known from various origins, mainly because of the deficiency of blood.

Intestinal cold constipation.

 ✦The Intestinal cold constipation type is also known as constipation of the intestinal cold type, or cold constipation is constipation due to the cold of the intestine.

 ✧ The symptoms of the Intestinal cold constipation type, are commonly known including pale blue complexion(pale and blue facial complexion), prefer warm and aversion to cold, cold in hands and feet, cold in abdomen, or even cold pain, difficult to defecate, pale tongue, white moist tongue coating. Other symptoms might be observed: difficulty in passage of feces with abdominal colic, distension, tenderness, and cold limbs.
