  Introduction: The main content of TCM Diagnostic Methods are introduced as:

 ✵Diagnostic method: method of examining a patient and collecting information for diagnosis.

 ✵Four examinations: inspection, auscultation-olfaction, inquiry(history taking), and palpation(including pulse taking).

 ✵Inspection: examination by using the eyes, including inspection of vitality, complexion, expression, behavior, body surface, tongue, excreta, secretions, etc.

 ✵Auscultation-olfaction: the Auscultation and olfaction is one of the four examinations of TCM Diagnostic methods, hearing and smelling, the auscultation is listening to the patient's voice, sounds of breathing, coughing,etc, smelling means smelling odors, or special attention to unusual smells.

 ✵Inquiry: the Inquiry is one of the four examinations of TCM Diagnostic methods, also known as interrogation, an important way of gaining information for diagnosis by asking the patient about the complaint and the history of the illness.

 ✵Palpation: the Palpation is one of the four examinations of TCM Diagnostic methods, examination of the surface of the body by feeling with the hand or fingers, including taking the pulse.
