Tinnitus and Deafness.
✵The Tinnitus is ringing in the ear. The deafness is lack or loss, complete or partial, of the sense of hearing.
✵ The Tinnitus, sounds like wind, or like stream, like drum or bells, or like thunder and storm, or like cicada singing, or like mosquitoes hum, serious case will lead to upset(annoyed and perplexed), unable to sit down or sleep at ease, hard to sleep, the deafness or loss of hearing sense, are normally defined as nervous tinnitus in other science. ✵The Tinnitus and Deafness of Liver-Fire type is mainly caused by the liver fire and gall fire, the common symptoms are known including: sudden ringing in the ear, ringing sounds like thunder, or like Tidewater, or storm, sudden loss of hearing, accompanied with symptoms a headache, face and eyes flushing, bitterness in mouth and dry pharynx, vexation and irritable, nightmare awoke (frightening dream), tongue red with yellow coating. Other symptoms may be observed: unilateral with sudden onset, hypochondriac distension, irritability, and wiry rapid pulse.
Tinnitus and Deafness of Kidney-deficiency type.
✵The Tinnitus and Deafness of Kidney-deficiency type is mainly caused by kidney-deficiency in essence and Qi, the common symptoms are known including ear ringing sometime and stop sometime, chronic and not stop in long period, sound like mosquito or cicada, sounding low and trivial small, deafness could not hear any sound, or otosis(misheard), normally accompanied with symptoms dizziness and dazzled, lassitude in loin and legs(aching and pain of low back and legs), spermatorrhea(nocturnal emission), mental fatigue(mental weariness), etc.

✵The phlegm-fire Tinnitus is mainly caused by the liver fire, the common symptoms are known including: soft sound in the ear, usually unilateral, accompanied by local pain and distension, or even discharge of pus from the ear.
✵ The zang-fu insufficiency Tinnitus is mainly caused by the insufficiency of zang-fu, the common symptoms are known including: high-pitched ringing in the ear, usually bilateral, accompanied by deficiency syndrome of the corresponding zang-fu viscera.
