It is majorly composed of Introduction of Chinese Medicinals, Classification of Chinese Herbs, Formulas, and Patent medicines.

Tranquilizing herbs have functions of tranquilizing and relieving uneasiness of body and mind, used in the treatment of delirium. According to the difference of its functions, tranquilizing herbs are classified into two kinds: ①.settling tranquilizing herbs, ②.heart-nourishing tranquilizing herbs.

 Tranquilizing herbs mostly are minerals, shells, or plant seeds, tranquilizing herbs from minerals and shells have settling tranquilizing functions, thus are known as settling tranquilizing herbs, tranquilizing herbs from seeds have moistening and nourishing functions, nourishing the heart and calm the vitality, thus are known as heart-nourishing tranquilizing herbs. Tranquilizing herbs are mainly indicated for feel ill at ease (uneasy), palpitation due to fright, insomnia (sleeplessness), amnesia (forgettery), dreaminess, infantile convulsion, epilepsy, mania, etc.

 Settling tranquilizing herbs are herbs that induce tranquilization associated with its settling action, mostly a mineral, shell. Settling tranquilizing herbs mostly have functions settling action, calm frightening and peace wills, calming the liver and suppressing yang hyperactivity, these herbs are mainly used for syndromes feel ill at ease (uneasy), palpitation and insomnia, frightened epilepsy, mania, liver-Yang hyperactivity, due to reasons exuberance of heart fire, phlegm-fire confusing heart, frightening, etc. Representative herbs of this kind are Magnetitum (Cí Shí), and other herbs including Succinum (Hǔ Pò), Margarita (Zhēn Zhū), etc.

 Heart-nourishing tranquilizing herbs are herbs that nourish the heart to calm the mind, mostly a plant seeds or kernels. Heart-nourishing tranquilizing herbs mostly are sweet and have moistening properties, and have functions nourishing the heart and liver, replenish blood, coordinating heart-kidney, these herbs are mainly used for syndromes palpitation, severe palpitation, insomnia and dreaminess, insomnia with deficient restlessness, due to reasons insufficiency of Yin blood, deficiency of heart and spleen, heart-kidney imbalance, etc. Representative herbs of this kind are Semen Ziziphi Spinosae (Suān Zǎo Rén), Radix Polygalae (Yuǎn Zhì), and other herbs including Semen Platycladi (Bǎi Zǐ Rén), Cortex Albiziae (Hé Huān Pí), Flos Albiziae (Hé Huān Huā), Ganoderma Lucidium (Línɡ Zhī), Caulis Polygoni Multiflori (Shǒu Wū Ténɡ), Poria cum Radice Pino (Fú Shén), Rhizoma Valerianae (Xié Cǎo), etc.
