Botanical description: Ganoderma duropora Lloyd is a fungus of the Ganodermataceae or Polyporaceae family and Ganoderma genus, it is commonly known as Hard-hole Ganoderma, or Ying Kong LingZhi, basidiocarp (fruiting body) is annual, petiolate, suberinite or ligneous. The pileus (cap) is slightly circular, the center part is explanate, often concave and funnelform (funnel-shaped), 6–15×8–16cm, the surface is atropurpureus (purple black) to black, has a strong lacquer-like luster, with conspicuous or inconspicuous ring edges or rumples; the edge is slightly thin or sharp, slightly involute (rolled inward), sinuated. The context is bistre (seal brown), 0.8–1.5 cm thick; the fungus tube is dark brown, 0.3–0.6 cm long; the pore surface is hazel (pale brown), brown to dark brown; and the tube orifice is orbicular, 5–6 per mm. The prosthecae grows in the middle, is 10–20 cm long, 1.2–1.8 cm in diameter, subcylindrical (nearly cylindrical), the same color as the pileus (cap), has a strong lacquer-like luster, is sometimes unequal in diameter, or is torose (nearly bead-like).
The husk structure is a typical sporiferous layer type, and pale brown, compositive hyphae are clavate, the tip is enlarged or slightly truncated, usually 5–7 μm wide, length is 17.5–25 μm.
The mycelial system is three-body type: generative hypha are transparent, leptodermous (thin wall), 2.5–4 μm in diameter; skeletal hyphae are pale brown to brown, pachypleurous (thick wall) to farctate, arborizations (dendritic branching), skeletal part is 4–5 μm in dry diameter, flagelliform colorless binding hypha is formed at the tip of branches, binding hypha is pachypleurous (thick wall), branched, 1.0–2.0 μm in diameter.
The basidiospores are oval (egg-shaped) or broad oval, there are umbilicate protuberances at the tip, double wall, the outer wall is colorless and transparent, smooth, the inner wall is pale brown, and the inner wall has spinules, 9–11.5 × 6–7.5 μm.
Ecological Environment: Ganoderma duropora Lloyd grows in the mountains and forests. This species is mainly distributed in Pingyun County of Guangdong Province, Jianfengling of Hainan, Rong' an county and Baise of Guangxi, Libo, Xingren, and Shiqian county of Guizhou, China.
