 Botanical description: Ganoderma tropicum (Jungh.) Bres is a fungus of the Ganodermataceae or Polyporaceae family and Ganoderma genus, it is commonly known as Tropical Ganoderma, or Re Dai LingZhi, basidiocarp (fruiting body) is annual, sessile, suberinite to ligneous. The pileus (cap) is semicircular, nearly fan-shaped, nearly reniform, or nearly funnelform, sometimes irregular in shape, or small pileus (cap) is formed at the edge of big pileus (cap), size is 2.5–8.5 × 4.5–15 cm, thickness is 0.5–2 cm, the surface is maroon (brownish red), puce (purple-brown) or prunus (violet-red), with slightly lacquer-like luster, sometimes the outward edge gradually turns lighter and is yellow-white or fawn color (flavotestaceous), the edge is thin; the context is well-proportioned brown, and thickness is 0.5–1.9 cm, has no black chitinous layer (shell layer); the fungus tube is 0.1–0.2 cm long, brown; the hole surface is stained white (dirty white) or hazel (pale brown), sometimes is slightly brownish; the ostiole orifice is irregular shape, 4–5 per mm.

 The basidiospores are oval (egg-shaped), nearly elliptic, or slightly truncated at the tip, double wall, the outer wall is colorless and transparent, smooth, the inner wall is pale brown, has spinules, and sometimes has one big oil droplet, 8.4–11.4 × 5.2–6.9 (–7.2) μm, and has spinules.
