The pileus (cap) is slightly rounded, slightly flat, 14–17 × 9–13.5 cm, the pileolus (small cap) is 4 × 3.5 cm in size, 0.5–2.5 cm thick, the upper surface is gray to pale brown, sometimes rusty brown, with concentric ring bands, no lacquer-like luster; the edge is blunt, complete. The context is brown to chestnut brown, up to 1 cm thick, and has a black chitinous layer (shell layer); the fungus tube is monolayer (single layer), 1–2 cm long, and dark brown to chestnut brown. The pore surface is primrose yellow (pale yellow), slightly brown, and dirty white to dirty gray; the tube orifice is slightly rounded, 4–5 per mm. The skin shell is hard, similar to the type of interwoven shell, formed by transparent, leptodermous (thin-walled) generative hypha and pachypleurous (thick-walled), brown skeletal hyphae, hyphae intertwined with each other and uneasy to separate, the tip of former hyphae is sharp and thin or blunt, 6–7.5 μm in diameter, the latter hyphae are branched, 5–7 μm in diameter. The generative hypha on the surface of the skin shell forms a mycelial mat, mixed with skeletal hyphae, the total thickness is 60–80 μm.
The mycelial system is three-body type: generative hypha is transparent, leptodermous (thin wall), branched, 4–5.5 μm in diameter; skeletal hyphae are brown to pale brown, pachypleurous (thick wall) to farctate, arborizations (dendritic branching) or acicular (acerous), skeletal part is 3–5 μm in dry diameter, flagelliform binding hypha is formed at the tip of branches, binding hypha is fawn color (flavotestaceous), pachypleurous (thick wall), often branched, 1–2 μm in diameter.
The basidiospores are broadly elliptical to oval (egg-shaped), sometimes the tip is truncated, double-walled, the outer wall is colorless and transparent, smooth, the inner wall is hazel (pale brown), has spinules, 7–10 × 4.5–6.8 μm.
Ecological Environment: Ganoderma lobatum (Schw.) Atk grows in the mountains and forests.
