 Ganoderma valesiacum. Botanical description: Ganoderma valesiacum Boud is a fungus of the Ganodermataceae or Polyporaceae family and Ganoderma genus, it is commonly known as Purple-light Ganoderma, or Ziguang LingZhi, basidiocarp (fruiting body) is annual, sessile, suberinite. Pileus (cap) is semicircle (semicircular), orbicular or conchoidal, sometimes irregular shape, 5–7 × 4–11 cm, thickness is 0.5–1 cm, the surface is puce (purple-brown) to black-brown, with a lacquer-like luster, with ring edge and ring pattern, and vertical wrinkles; edge is blunt; the context has two layers, the upper layer is white, the lower layer is puce (bistre or dark brown), thickness is 0.3–0.5 cm; the fungus tube is brown to dark brown, about 0.7 cm long; the hole surface is hazel (pale brown) to chestnut brown; the tube orifice is slightly rounded, tube wall is thicker, 4–5 per mm.

 The husk structure is irregular sporiferous layer type, hazel (pale brown) to brown, compositive hyphae are clavate or irregular shape, the enlarged part of the top is 4.5–7 μm wide; and the length is 18–25 μm. It is easily separated from the context.

 Ganoderma valesiacum. The mycelial system is three-body type: generative hypha is colorless, transparent, thin wall, 3–5 μm in diameter; skeletal hyphae are hazel (pale brown), pachypleurous (thick wall) to farctate, arborizations (dendritic branching), skeletal hyphae is 4–7 μm in dry diameter, flagelliform colorless binding hypha is formed at the tip of branches; binding hypha is colorless, pachypleurous (thick wall), branched, 1–2 μm in diameter.

 The basidiospores are oval (egg-shaped), sometimes nearly elliptic, the tip is mostly truncated, double wall, the outer wall is colorless, transparent, smooth, the inner wall has spinules or spinules are unapparent (inconspicuous), nearly colorless to hazel (pale brown), 9.5–12.1 × 6.1–6.9 μm.
