(19).Ganoderma gibbosum.

two brownish mushrooms of Ganoderma gibbosum Nees Pat grow in grass. Botanical description: Ganoderma gibbosum (Nees) Pat is a fungus of the Ganodermataceae or Polyporaceae family and Ganoderma genus, it is commonly known as Petiolate Ganoderma, or Ganoderma petiolate, or You Bing Ling Zhi.

The basidiocarp (fruiting body) is petiolate, suberinite or ligneous. The pileus (cap) is semicircular or nearly fan-shaped, 4–10 × 5–9 cm, thickness is up to 2 cm, the upper surface is rusty brown, dirty yellowish-brown, or Khaki, with denser concentric ring bands, the skin shell is thinner, sometimes it can be crushed with fingers, sometimes cracked, unlustrous (lustreless); the edge is blunt or obtuse, intact; the context is dark brown or dark tan (dark chocolate brown), the thickness is 0.5–1 cm; the fungus tube is dark brown, 0.5–1 cm long; the pore surface is dirty white or brown; the tube orifice is obicular, 4–5 per millimeter. The prosthecae is short and thick, lateral, 4–8 cm long, 1–3 cm thick, and the base is thicker, the same color as the pileus (cap).

The husk structure is composed of transparent, leptodermous (thin-walled) generative hypha, and pachypleurous (thick-walled), brown skeletal hyphae, stuck together, hyphae are not easy to separate, the previous turns hazel (pale brown) when aged, branched, some tips are enlarged to subsphaeroidal, 4.5–6 μm in diameter, the latter is branched, 4–7.5 μm in diameter, overall height is 80–100 μm. Similar to the interlaced husk type, its difference from the husk of Ganoderma applanatum is that the surface has no transparent mycelial mat.

The mycelial system is a three-body type: generative hypha is transparent or slightly fawn color (flavotestaceous), leptodermous (thin wall), 2–4 μm in diameter; skeletal hyphae are pale russet (pale reddish-brown), pachypleurous (thick wall) to farctate, arborizations (dendritic branching) or acicular (acerous), skeletal part is 2–3 μm in dry diameter, flagelliform colorless binding hypha is formed at the tip of branches, binding hypha is colorless to slightly pale brown, pachypleurous (thick wall), branched, 1–2 μm in diameter.

The basidiospores are oval (egg-shaped), sometimes the tip is truncated, double-walled, the outer wall is colorless and transparent, smooth, the inner wall is hazel (pale brown), and the inner wall has spinules, 6.9–8.7 × 5–5.2 μm.

Ecological Environment: Ganoderma gibbosum (Nees) Pat grows in mountains and forests. This species is mainly distributed in Jiangxi, Lingwushan of Hebei, Haerbing of Heilongjiang, Nanjing of Jiangsu, Lingyinsi Hangzhou of Zhejiang, Shennongjia Mountains of Hubei, Huananrezuosuo and Bawangling Yajialinchang, Fushan of Hainan, Guangxi, Chuxiong of Yunnan, China.
