Consumptive syndromes. ✵Consumptive syndromes: This classification of diseases mainly introduces some diseases and syndromes related to consumption and consumptive causes. These include overexertion syndrome, consumption syndrome, phthisis, and exhaustion of the five Zang-viscera, as well as the six exhaustions and seven kinds of impairments.

 Overexertion syndrome is also known as overstrain (láo juàn), too much strain, or overfatigue.

 The consumption syndrome mainly includes the following: deficiency of Qi, deficiency of blood, deficiency of Yang, deficiency of Yin, Jiān Jué. It also includes Xiè Yì and èr yáng syndrome, etc.

 Phthisis syndromes mainly include bone steaming, phthisis of bone steaming, phthisis of blood wind, cold phthisis and heat phthisis, as well as chronic consumption of phthisis, etc.

 Four syndromes of six exhaustions are introduced, including tendon exhaustion syndrome, bone exhaustion, essence exhaustion and Qi exhaustion.

 Two syndromes of seven impairments are introduced, including asynodia syndrome (impotentia) and seminal emission syndrome.

Overexertion syndrome
